The 2013 MV Agusta Rivale 800 Preview

MV Agusta released all the info ahead of the bikes official unveiling at the EICMA in Milan. Thie name is the Rivale 800. This bike builds on MVA’s line of inline three motorcycles, joining the F3 675, the Bruatle 675 and the all-new Brutale 800. These bikes are all younger siblings of MV’s F4 and the new Brutale 1090. Its takes a clear aim at one competitor – the Ducati Hypermotard. The styling attributes of the Rivale 800 display this; the front appears like Ducati’s Hypermotorad. But what’s also interesting is the rear tail section – it takes styling from Ducati’s Diavel.

Same as Brutale 800, the Rivale features the signature steel-trellis frame and single-sided swingarm, all united through two aluminum-alloy plates. MV Agusta says the angle of the steering head on the Rivale 800 is half of a degree more open than the Brutale 800. The excursion of the fork and shock have also been increased to provide more comfort and conformity to the road surface.

The new 800′s engine is basically a bored-out version of the 675. The 800 pushes 125 horsepower at 11,600 rpm, which is 12 ponies more than the 675, and 60 ft. lbs. of torque at 8600 rpm. The engine features the counter-rotating crankshaft, something once only used in MotoGP. The design reduces inertia while changing direction, helping the bike’s overall balance.

For comfortable ridding, the Rivale 800 uses Marzocchi and Sachs components of suspension, which feature adjustable spring preload, hydraulic compression and rebound damping. And for stopping the Rivale 800 are dual, 320mm discs up front from squeezed by Brembo four-piston radial calipers, and a single 220mm disc out back squeezed by a twin-piston Brembo caliper.

The Rivale 800 also features a new dash. The compact "monochrome" fully-digital, mult-function dashboard was optimized for not only looks within the front fairing. MV Agusta says the Rivale 800 should be available in the second half of 2013, and retails for around $13,970 (10,990€).

The 2013 MV Agusta F4 F4R F4RR

In new year 2013, MV Agusta (MVA) is offering the Italian sportbike in three models – the "standard" F4, the F4R and the F4RR. This is made to compete some rivals in world of European sportbike, such as BMW with the S1000RR, Aprilia with RSV4 and Ducati with 1199 Panigale. Even the top 2013 F4 model – the F4RR – now revs to 14,000 RPM, and is claimed to produce 200.8 horsepower at the crank. If this is true, this will place the F4RR in the same above 200-horsepower crowd of the BMW HP4 and the Ducati 1199 R.

The all F4 lineup engine built in four cylinder, 4 stroke, 16 valve "D.O.H.C", radial valve. A four-cylinder advanced "short stroke" engine powers the entire F4 range. Piston diameters of 79 mm are combined with a stroke of 50.9 mm. The peak rev limit has been raised to 14,000 RPM for the F4 RR. 50 mm diameter throttle bodies are employed with a revised variable length intake tract (TSS). The gearbox as on all the MV Agusta four-cylinder engines, is a six-speed unit, with the clutch featuring a mechanical slipper device. Four engine maps are available: three default and to customizable by the pilot.
Engine Management used integrated ignition – injection system MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with eight injectors, engine control unit Eldor EM2.0, throttle body full drive by wire Mikuni, pencil-coil with ion-sensing technology, control of detonation and misfire, Torque control with four maps, Traction Control with eight levels of intervention, TSS Torque Shift System employing variable length intake runners.
For more comfortable, F4 lineup used three model of suspension. The three versions of the new model offer three distinct combinations of fork and shock while all providing the established traditional handling strengths of f4. This bike equipment includes a 50mm diameter Marzocchi fork and Sachs shock that are both fully adjustable. F4 R utilizes a race specification Öhlins, again fully adjustable. The brake system on the F4 RR is state of the art in the hypersports category. It is composed of two 320 mm diameter front discs with steel flanges. They gripped by the new Brembo Monobloc M50; an absolute reference for performance, weight and stiffness with a specifically designed and dedicated radial pump. The system is completed by a four piston rear caliper together with a 210 mm diameter disc. The F4 and F4 R replaces the monobloc found on the F4 RR with the effective race bred Brembo M4 front brake calipers and Nissin master cylinders.
The 2013 F4 lineup is packed with electronics, including a Ride-by-Wire with four maps, an eight-level traction control, anti-wheelie control, and electronic shift assist. And the F4RR gets the additional electronically controlled Ohlins Suspension, a steering damper, GP-spec titanium connection rods and Bembo Monoblock brake calipers. The only thing not available on the F4 lineup is ABS. The MVA released F4 in white or red/silver / $21,604 (€16,990), F4 R: in white or red/silver / $24,147 (€18,990) and F4 RR in pearl white/black or red/white / $30,505 (€23,990)

2013 MV Agusta Brutale 675

The name is 2013 MV Agusta Brutale 675. This bike is destined to become the reference in the middle-weight category. Its become the new benchmark among the naked supersports. The power is transferred to the asphalt in the most effective and safe way possible. With the introduction of this bike, MV Agusta has created the reference point of the large displacement naked category offering a product with a truly unique desing and superbike level performance.

The engine packed in 675 cm3 (41.2 cu. in.) type DOHC, three cylinder, 4 stroke, 12 valve. Engine management system used injection system MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with three injectors engine control unit Eldor EM2.0, throttle body full drive by wire Mikuni, pencil-coil with ion-sensing technology, control of detonation and misfire. Torque control with four maps, traction control with eight levels of intervention clutch wet, multi-disc with mechanical drive. With a large 79mm bore and an ultra-short 45,9mm stroke, the three cylinder MV Agusta is a power plant with an extremely oversquare layout that allows it to rev to previously unheard of levels. The Brutale 675 utilizes a counter-rotating crankshaft, which has only been seen on MotoGp motorcycles, this important design feature helps the Brutale reach previously unreached levels of dynamic balance and ease of handling.
The MVICS system allows the engine to unleash a record level of power and control in every situation. The rider can select one of the 4 maps available, or customize an additional map to obtain the power delivery desired. The system was possible to generate a perfect harmony between the power delivery and the traction control which offers 8 levels of adjustment.
For comfortable riding, MV Agusta is always capable of developing an extremely easy and intuitive chassis while at the same time offering the maximum performance. The upper section is fabricated from steel tubes and connected to the aluminum side plates which mate with the engine. The suspension used 43 mm Marzocchi type upside-down front forks and in the rear used progressive Sachs single shock absorber with spring preload adjustment and single sided swing arm with Aluminium alloy material.
In the brake sector, the 2013 MV Agusta Brutale 675 used double floating disc with 320 mm of diameter with steel braking disc and the caliper used Brembo Radial-type, with 4 pistons 32 mm in front. For rear used single steel disc with 220 mm of diameter and the caliper used Brembo with 2 pistons 34 mm.
